Sights of Rotterdam

Lake Kralingen, or Kralingse Plas in Dutch, is a popular recreational area in Rotterdam. Here you’ll find a forest for walking, jogging, and cycling, as well as a beach for swimming. On the lake, it’s possible to go sailing, try stand‑up paddleboarding, or rent a canoe. For children, there is a climbing forest and a petting farm with animals.

The area covers approximately 250 hectares, of which 100 hectares are lake. A walk around the lake is about 5 km (3.1 miles), and along the way you’ll come across several places to eat or have a drink. You’ll also pass two still‑operating snuff and spice windmills, which are open every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:30.
